I recently got into MBA program with full tuition scholarship. It is not one of top 20 or 25 MBA schools but it has got the very good MIS program, which is in top 20 in the nation. I am wondering if I should go to that school or not since it is just mid-table MBA program in terms of general ranking. The only thing I am worried about is the career opportunities after the degree.

Are you going for the MBA or MIS?

Generally speaking, I say overall ranking of the MBA programs is more important that specialty rankings such as finance, international, marketing, etc...MIS sounds like a completely different degree though, so I'm not sure how that schools MBA ranking effects the MIS degree?

Thank you for your reply. I am going for MBA+MS in Management Information Systems area (MIS, which is just like any other specialty areas). Since it is the dual degree I am going for, I am not sure if the good reputation from MS degree can outweigh the mid reputation in MBA degree. :?: :?:

Probably not. The value of a high-ranked MBA is linked to the caliber of company that hires those MBAs. If you want to go into strictly MIS, this might be okay, but don't expect the lower ranked MBA to get you much clout.
