According to the OG, about 1% of test takers score a 750 or higher.
In 2000, 542,575 people took the test. This leaves approximately 5426 tests at 750 or higher.
On average, the top 10 business schools enroll
about 1000 students per year,
about 10% of whom have scored in the top percentile.
So, only about 20% of the 5400 750+ scorers go to a top ten school.
What about the other 4300?
A few of them go to second and third tier US schools.
A few of them are Asians, who enroll in IIM or somesuch.
A few of them are people trying to push their 750s up to 770s.
A few of them are GMAT coaches who take the test monthly.
Would anyone care to either:
guess what the breakdown of the other 4300 students is,
or come up with some alternatives that I haven't?
and your point of this exercise is...
