IMO D is correct.
Split 1: The use of reason that as well as because in the same sentence is redundant.
Remove A and B. We are left with C,D and E.
Split 2: The use of correct idiom, either....or.
Remove C. We are left with D and E.
In E the moment that is awkward. So D wins.
