check OG, can not use one and that togethar.
But except D, nothing makes sense.

Morever, choice B is not complete (it is missing four decades).

So the sentence is from my point of view is Poor Quality.

Picked A.

There is nothing in the sentence to suggest that , it is the "immediate" past for decades that were are talking about.
Had it been "the past four decades" a present tense "is" can be considered.

The problem with A is that there does not exist the main verb to go with the subject, "the science of economics."

Look carefully here

The science of economics, which for four decades was dominated by Keynesians, who first stressed the government¡'s role in stimulating the economy, but who were ultimately led away from solutions based on government intervention.

The science of economics (main subject) is followed by two adjective clauses, the first of which modifies "the science of economics", and the second clause describes "Keynesians". Now after all these "adjectives" that beatifully describe the science of economics and Keynesians, where's the verb that says anything about what "the science of economics" is ?

The answer has to be D.

I agree with Keirin. I first chose A but it lacks a verb to complete the sentence. It has to be D but I am not convinced of D. "has been" indicates it is still being dominated by Key... Nuttin in the sentence suggests that. Overall a bad qn.

Agree with you keirin, some how I didn't read the entire sentence in totality ( a lesson for me).An important concept as well.

Yeah , after reading the sentence with A , you are left with (??now what??).

D fits in the Bill.

You are narrowing the subject "Economics". So it has to be a restrictive clause...."that" is needed and D fits the best
