(A) The shipping of raw materials being improved has become an economical
(B) The improved shipping of raw materials has become an economical
(C) That the shipping of raw materials is improved has become an economical
(D) The shipping of raw materials being improved has become an economic
(E) The improvement in shipping of raw materials has become an economic

+1 for E

Split 1:
Economical/Economic factor. Economical is wrong and economic is correct. Hence eliminate A, B, C

(A) The shipping of raw materials being improved has become an economical
(B) The improved shipping of raw materials has become an economical
(C) That the shipping of raw materials is improved has become an economical
(D) The shipping of raw materials being improved has become an economic --> Being changes the intended meaning of the sentence
(E) The improvement in shipping of raw materials has become an economic --> Rectifies the error in D

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:

Do you use the word economic or economical? Economical means thrifty. Economic is correct. ‘The shipping of raw materials being improved’ in D is idiomatically incorrect. Choice E is the correct answer.
