if its all inclusive 40 and 60, it is equal to the median * the numbers between 40 and 60 inclunsive so 50*21 =1050

Good tech sfeiner!!

A more generic way to do it would be using the sum of an arithmetic progression -

n/2(2a +(n-1)*d)

where n is the total elements in the progression = 21
a = first term in the prog = 40
d = common difference in the Prog = 1

Applying to the formula 21/2(80+20) = 1050.

Also...

sum=n(a+z)/2
where
n = number of terms
a = first term
z = last term

Applying here

Sum = 21(40+60)/2 = 1050
