x+y+z = 68
x/y = 2/3 => x = 2y/3
y/z = 5/3 => z = 3y/5
2y/3 + y + 3y/5
(10y + 15y + 9y) /15 = 68
34y = 68x15
y = 2x15 = 30

We can use multiplier to solve this problem. Since second number is common in both the ratios we have to consider the LCM of 3 and 5, which is 15.
Multiply the first ratio (first to second) by 5 to get, 10:15
Now multiply the second ratio (second to third) by 3 to get, 15:9
Form an equation (where x is the multiplier):
10x + 15x + 9x = 68,
34x = 68,
x = 2
To get the value of second number substitute the value of x in 15x to get 30.
