Can someone please explain how will the formula for - the per-person average share of total food expenditures and calorie intake look like ?

For Expenditures - Rice: (total spend of every person in Dar es Salaam on rice)/ (Total exp. on all food prod in Dar es Salaam) *100 ?

Similarly for calories ?...

Take Rice - Dar es Salaam, 21.2% (calorie), 13.5% (expenditure):

  • Expenditure % = (average money per person spent on rice / average total money per person spent on all food) * 100
  • Calorie % = (average calories per person from rice / average total calories per person from all food) * 100
