Let the time taken by A =7x minutes and by B = 10x minutes
Difference between time taken by A and B = 10x -7x = 3x minutes

Now 3x = 18
X = 6
Time taken by B = 10x = 10 *6 = 60 minutes (E)

Solution

Given
In this question, we are given that
    • The time taken by A and B to reach their office from home is in the ratio 7: 10
    • B takes 18 minutes more than A to reach office

To find
We need to determine
    • The time taken by B to reach office

Approach and Working out
Let us assume that the time taken by A and B to reach office is 7t and 10t respectively

As per the given condition,
    • 10t – 7t = 18
    Or, 3t = 18
    Or, t = 6

Hence, the time taken by B to reach office = (10 x 6) minutes = 60 minutes
Thus, option E is the correct answer.

Correct Answer: Option E
