Can a 'how were your values challenged' essay reflect your position if you were in a role were elminating heads (by was of process automation) was the main goal? How do you structure such an essay? what kind of things are important to include?
My structure thus far is:
P1 - Situation
P2 - Why this is a values challenge?
P3 - How was the situation resolved? (side note: is it resolved by leaving? or does that answer look like giving up?)
P4 - Recap / things I learned
Thanks in advance to all the essay gurus!
I would suggest
1) Situation with a line or two indicating your dilemma
2) Describe what did u undergo in ur mind, your thoughts. What are the various options that u considered.
3) Describe how you evaluated various options and the parameters and their weightage
4) decision and why u believe its the best and outcome
5) conclusion
My opinion:
In such type of essays there is no right answer. They are highly situation and person specific and two people will act differently and will have very good reasons for doing so.
I will suggest pick out a situation where your effective solution was a creative workaround and thus avoiding the conflict of values and achieving your goals with little or no compromise.
I think the values challenge essay even though a difficult one is a great way to portray your personality.
Hope this helps
