The Volunteer for Literacy Program would benefit if Dolores takes Victors place as director, since Dolores is far more skillful than Victor is at securing the kind of financial support the program needs and Dolores does not have Victor’s propensity for alienating program’s most dedicated volunteers.

The pattern of reasoning in the argument above is most closely paralleled in which one of the following?

(A) It would be more convenient for Dominique to take a bus to school than to take the subway, since the bus stops closer to her house than does the subway and, unlike the subway, the bus goes directly to the school.

(B) Joshua’s interest would be better served by taking the bus to get to his parent’s house rather than by taking an airplane, since his primary concern is to travel as cheaply as possible and taking the bus is less expensive than going by airplane.

(C) Belinda will get to the concert more quickly by subway than by taxi since the concert takes place on a Friday evening and on Friday evenings traffic near the concert hall is exceptionally heavy.

(D) Anita would benefit financially by taking the train to work rather than driving her car, since when she drives she has to pay parking fees and the daily fee for parking a car is higher than a round-trip train ticket.

(E) It would be to Fred’s advantage to exchange his bus tickets for train tickets since he needs to arrive at his meeting before any of the other participants and if he goes by bus at least one of the other participants will arrive first.

How is the passage presented? There are two points Victor has :

First is a some what Good point - He is ok at Securing Finance ,
Second is a negative point - He has a tendency to alienate the program's most dedicated volunteers.

How is Dolores, better than victor?

By being better than Victor with regard to the first point : Dolores is far more skillful than Victor is at securing Financial support
By lacking the negative point of Victor :Dolores does not have Victor’s tendency to alienate the program’s most dedicated volunteers.

So Dolores ( or the second option ) needs to be better than Victor ( The first option ) by two points .

A) How is the Bus better than the Subway:
First point : Bus Stops closer to the Dominique's house than the Subway
Second point : Bus does not have the negative point of Subway of NOT going directly to School, so Bus goes directly to School .
So Bus is better than Subway by two points.

B)How is the Bus better than the Airplane?
First point : Bus is cheaper than the Airplane
Second point - ??? No there is no second advantage.
INCORRECT

C)How is the Subway better than the taxi ?
First point :No traffic near the concert hall
Second point: ?? There is no second advantage
INCORRECT

D)How is the Train better than her own car?
First point : Train is cheaper.
Second point : There is no second advantage .
INCORRECT.

E) How is going by train better than going by Bus for Fred?
First point : As desired by him he could be the first to arrive.
Second point: There is no second advantage.
INCORRECT.

Hence only A presents similar reasoning as the passage.

Ans- A

Hope this helps.
But there is a second point in E and you know it's the same as what your reasoning required? A point that is negative that the better option lacks

Us there a better explanation I'm not convinced on e being wrong.
