Hello.
I gave the GMAT and scored a 710 (Q50V35). I was, however, not happy with the score in verbal because I was scoring between 39-42 in my GMATPrep Official Practice tests.
I'm planning for a retest in 20 days time (only possible date that the centre is providing). I would be grateful if someone could help me make sense of my ESR for the verbal part.
From what I can understand, I need to be doing better at SC but I was wondering if I'm missing out on some other insight in the ESR. I'd appreciate any advice on how to get better at the verbal part. I've done the OG 2020 and Reviews 2020 along with the Manhattan books and CATs.
Your Verbal score of 35 is higher than 76% of GMAT Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score
for this section is 27.11.
• Your performance on Critical Reasoning questions was equivalent to a score of 35, which is better than 70% of GMAT
Exam scores recorded in the past three years. The mean score for this sub-section is 27.59.
◦ Your performance of 75% on Analysis/Critique questions is considered Above Average.
◦ Your performance of 50% on Construction/Plan questions is considered Weak.

Hi akshaymalpani,
First off, a 710/Q50 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is probably not necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

Thank you for your response. I was told that 710 is a good score but I'm not sure whether the verbal score is good enough for a person with my background. However, I'll take on your advice and post it in the admissions forum just to get a low down from the experts.
