I have a huge fear of standardized tests. I get nervous easily and get confused. did not have a good history with standardized tests.
I have arould 6 months before i take the test. I am assuming that i will be around 400s(will take my first mock up test soon). My question is are there anybody who crossed 700(say 720) from a dismal score of 400s.. just want to be realistic what is possible and what is a pie in the sky.

Many Test Takers feel some anxiety when taking a CAT (or the Official GMAT), so you're not alone. That having been said, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. You have to stay focused on learning the necessary content and Tactics though. The 720+ score is above the 90th percentile, meaning that 90% of Test Takers either CAN'T or WON'T do what it takes to score at that level. At this point, we have no idea what YOU are capable of achieving though.
Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

I would highly recommend that you enroll in a structured online course rather use free materials and tutorial videos available online. At a 400 level, you need to master almost every GMAT concepts and build a strong strategy to tackle each question type. That said, I would recommend that you start with the basics.
