Hi everyone,
Let me begin by saying THANK YOU to the community for providing boundless resources, guidance, and humor to test-takers everywhere. I began studying last year (2014) and most recently took my third GMAT test. Below is a breakdown of my scores:
CAT #1: 560 (July 2014)
CAT #2: 650 (Dec 2014) Raw score was around 42Q 39V
CAT #3: 630, Canceled (Aug 2015) - Raw score was 38Q 38V; My timing was awful
I have taken the Manhattan GMAT course twice, but am not doing measurably better in Quant, unfortunately. I'm really stuck between a few options:
Part of me wants to get individualized private tutoring, but the expense worries me. The other part of me wants to sign up for the Veritas Prep 6-week course and take the test in a few weeks.
What should I do in this situation?

Hi pgriffin1,
With your score goal (700+) and your strong Verbal ability, you're in a great position to succeed. However, you're going to have to adjust the way that you 'see' (and respond to) the Quant section. Depending on how 'stuck' you are in your ways, this might take some time - we have to get you out of the 'bad habits' that you've developed and into new 'good habits.'
1) You mentioned a timing 'issue' in Quant. Do you have to rush at the end of the Quant section on your CATs just to finish (and guess on a bunch of questions)? If so, then how many questions are you typically guessing on?
2) Have you scheduled the Official GMAT yet?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Hi Rich, thanks for taking the time to respond!!
To answer your questions:
1) This last time around, I found that I was WAAY ahead on my timing. I was powering through without looking at the clock and essentially had 30 minutes left for my last 9 questions or so. Oops!
2) I have not yet scheduled, but I am looking somewhere at Oct/Nov/early Dec. This would be my fourth GMAT
(Does that look bad??)3) Round 1 and Round 2 this Fall.
