I think it is just the precedence that has been set on this forum. When one comes to this forum they are instantly met with a collaborative environment where negative, rude behavior is not tolerated.

WOW... that was a read alright!

Yes, I am VERY glad that Praet and the other founders on this forum emphasize "be nice" repeatedly and boot anyone who doesn't play by the rule. We wouldn't have such a cohesive, supportive, and friendly community otherwise.

I'm a mod on another forum (not business related) too that will shut people down the second they start being insulting/offensive to others, and that site is just as fun to be a part of as GMATClub!

Good points everyone.

A good forum is where no one feels the need to use authority. The best way to do this is to build the right kind of environment. A good environment attracts the right kind of people and the right kind of people are key to a good environment. This is easier said than done, but we as a community should try to be inclusive. A simple example : Not many would want to be part of a forum that uses strong language (I realize that the definition of strong language can be fuzzy). Should we care? I happen to think we should.

GMAT790 or whoever-you-are, if you truly have a GMAT of 790, why are you using another alias "livehard" on this website and asking for profile evaluation, that too with a GMAT of 770. So, 790 isnt even your real score. Is it?

That you use this forum for your gain, but also choose to ridicule people here shows your poor character, that is if you have any.
