This one totally threw me off
The intial height of a tree is 4 feet. It increases by a constant amount every year
the height at the end of 6 years is 1/5 the height at the end of 4th year, what is the increase in height every year
I forgot the choices but they were like 3/10, 2/5, 1/2, 2/3 6/5
My frustration is that if the height increases every year how can the height at the end of 6th year be less than 4th year?
well I can get the answer if the height at the end of six years is 6/5 of what it was at the end of 4th year
SO IT MUCT BE A TYPO

Hey Guys.. Here is the exact question. And the Solution >
Since the height grown each year is constant, let it be x.
At the end of 4 yrs the height is x+4x.
At the end of 6 yrs, the height is x+6x.
Now, as per the problem , we get an equation as follows;
(4+4x) + 1/5(4+4x) = 4+6x .
Solving the above equation, we get x = 2/3 which is the answer.
