"Divided on" is better than "divided over".

A: and what impact will it have if it does - wordy
B: Not totally sure, but I don't think on whether is the correct idiom
C: as to whether sounds good, then... "will occur or the impact" changes the meaning of the sentence
D. will have changes the meaning, its not sure if it (globabl warming) "will occur"


E: correct idiom over whether. it would have fixes the wordy phrase will it have if it does, but does not change the meaning.

Again, I think over whether is the correct idiom...

I am going with E too.

A is too wordy at the end. 'if it does' is not necessary.

E should be right because "over whether significant warming will occur and what impact it would have"

It correctly expresses uncertain scenario..

I will choose A.

For me , E seems to be incorrect because the main sentence is in the present tense due to the verb 'argue' and in E the final clause "what impact it would have" should be used in past tense. If E had the clase, "what impact it will have", I will jump for E.

Anyways, please spill the beans..Whats the correct answer ?

A doesn't have parallel structure. should be "it will" instead of "will it". E looks like the least evil option

'divided on' is incorrect. 'will' cannot express a hypothetical situation;'would' is required. This leaves only C and E.

In C, the use of 'or' is incorrect. You cannot be divided over a 'or' b; you can be divided over 'a' and 'b'.

Answer should be E.
