Hello again GMAT club - it's been a while!
I've interviewed with nearly all of the big consulting firms: McKinsey, Booz, BCG, Deloitte. I've also interviewed with Wipro Consulting, the consulting wing of Wipro Technologies. I've had some 2nd rounds and am waiting to hear back from them.
Coming out of the various interviews, I'm a bit surprised by my take-away: Wipro has impressed the hell out of me. They clearly lack the brand equity that the rest have, and they're more process and IT focused than the S&O firms, but my god do they have one hell of a business model. I even asked one of the Deloitte (technology consulting) guys what he thought of Indian consulting firms like Wipro and Infosys. He said, "They're going to eat our lunch if we don't start doing something differently."
I've begun my diligence on Wipro. Vault.com has almost nothing on their consulting practice, and most of the information I've found online is related to their Indian operations. I've done HBS cases on Infosys, and clearly there are some similarities. Other than that, I've had to resort to primary research and have reached out to current employees. Obviously they've put a positive spin on it, but I do believe that they're genuine. Several of the people I've spoken with are ex-BCG, Deloitte, etc. guys who believe Wipro is the future of technology consulting, and perhaps strategy/management consulting as well.
Your thoughts are most welcome.
