Hi Hjort --
Am looking for some good advice as I plan the next leg of my MBA application journey. Just finished the GMAT with a 760 (49 Q / 45 V) and 6.0 AWA.
I know that this is almost everyone's problem, but my GPA from undergrad is on the lower side - 3.1 - from Tufts, with a degree in Quantitative Economics. Have I sufficiently offset this with my GMAT? I guess also, I did poorly in two quantitative classes -- one an upper level math, and the other a very intro, not even eligible for a major class. I've since taken 3 classes at a reputable school's Continuing Education program in Finance and Accounting and have received all A's.
Been working for 3 years now in consulting - 1 for a boutique firm, and 2 for a start-up firm. Was asked to join by a partner of the old firm who left. Since it is small, I've had a great deal of diverse experience.
What are your thoughts on my ability to get into a top 10? Should I think about the optional essay?
