Three consecutive odd integers are written in increasing order. The sum of the first and second and twice the third is 46. What is the second number?

(A) 7
(B) 9
(C) 11
(D) 13
(E) 15
\(a + ( a + 2 ) + 2( a + 4 ) = 46\)

Or, \(4a = 36\)

So, \(a = 9\), Hence second number is 11, Answer must be (C)
