Q2, I was confused b/w B and E, how to eliminate E?
Hi,

My reasoning for eliminating E was - nowhere did the passage challenged any hypothesis. It was a mere discussion and providing evidence for a particular hypothesis (competition hypothesis) to be a prominent one than the other two.

Hope it helps.

Prajeesh ,

There is no elimination required between E and B , since E is clearly wrong if we consider the theme of passage !

Theme: 3 hypothesis proposed (each equally likely to be true) and only one is Chosen / Supported to be true.

E - challenge two widely held assumptions about a particular aspect of bird behavior

It does challenge two assumptions among three assumptions and supports one of them !

But nowhere it is said those two were WIDELY HELD ! All three were equally up for discussion and disapproval.
