Three teams, A, B and C each have five members. The three teams competed in a three-event competition. Five points were awarded to the winner of each event, four points to the second and three points to the third. (No points were awarded for lower positions). Which team won the competition?

1) No team scored fewer points than C, which scored 11 points.
2) Team A won two events and came second in the third event.

I get B.

Here is why...
If team C gets 11 points, then they could have scored 1st once, and 3rd twice. 5 + 3 + 3. Given that, either team A or B would have scored first or second in two events, and second or third in the remaining event. No single answer

If team A wins two events, and gets second in the third they have 14 points. The best possible outcome for another team is two seconds and a first, or 4+4+5 = 13. Since 13<14, Team A wins.

1 - Nope
2 - Yup
Therefore, B

If every team has five members, that means 15 members compete in one event.

I think the five members part is just to throw you. It is in the wording...

Three teams, A, B and C each have five members. The three teams competed in a three-event competition. [/b]Five points were awarded to the winner of each event, four points to the second and three points to the third[/b]. (No points were awarded for lower positions) Of course, there aren't any lower positions, 3 teams, 3 positions . Which team won the competition?

Notice the choices mention the team winning, not a member of the team.
