Right... i guess i didn't word my poll correctly, Sorry.
What i was essentially asking was what the lowest score anyone has seen someone get whose gotten into a tier 1 school. Now, i know there are other factors involved however in my case, alabama, doesn't, in my humble opinion and from what i've heard, really give a crap about those factors if a 700+ students comes in w/ an app they will get a free ride and get in... We like to get our avg's up w/ the big boys

So what i figured is if you can get like a 620 and get into Vandy or some other big name school, i would think they would let me in to the mba program at alabama...

See our avg is 640 but im convinced the middle half scores are b/w like 580 and a 650, i maybe wrong about this though.

I'm from alabama so I'm decently familiar w/ the manderson mba program. Their GMAT average is actually 620. I also think that they tend to take students with little work experience. I believe the averrage age is around 24. So assuming you've got a decent rest of the applicationk, I believe a 580 could get you in. Its also a very small class, which allows the school to be a little more selective.

Like Peli said, do a search on the forum... there are people w/ lower GMAT scores that get into top schools all the time, but they usually tend to have some other factor in their profile which mitigates the score...

Depending on how serious you are about getting into a tier 1 school, hiring an MBA admissions consultant who specializes in working with applicants with low GMAT scores (like ARINGO) will be your best chance. A consultant will help you enhance all the other aspects of your application, to raise your chances of acceptance without changing your GMAT score. Applicants who have used our services have been accepted to tier 1 schools with low GMAT scores. For example: Harvard with a 580, Stanford with a 620, Duke with a 600 and Colombia University with a 600. See here some more examples for MBA accepted students with low GMAT scores https://aringo.com/aringo-top-mba-gmat-results/ that used ARINGO services. Hiring an admissions consultant is definitely worthwhile if you are striving for a tier 1 university but your GMAT score is below par.
