Deep and Ana decided to work togethr & complete the construction of a road.However, as Deep went out of town, Ana startd work alone and finished 1/4 th of the road and took 'x' days more than what they would have taken if they worked together. After this, Ana fell ill and Deep workin alone, completed the construction of 1/3 of the remaining road and took 25/16 x days more than what they would hav taken if they had worked together.Finally both of them worked together and completed the remaining road the whole process takin a total of 121 days.
In how many days can deep alone complete the construction of entire road?

See this is the solution in the book....though i dint understand what they have done...if sm1 can pls intepret it
Let Ana and Deep together take 4y days to complete the whole construction
Therefor,acc to given conditions,
(y+x) + (y+25x/16) + 2y=121
4y + 41x/16=121----------------1
also,
(1/y+x) + (16/16y + 25x) = 1/y
therfor,x/y = 4/5-----------------2
solving 1 and 2
x=16
y=20
Deep alone will tak 4(y+ 25x/16)
=4(20+25)
=180 days
