Hey all,
I think i've just diagnosed one my most important remaining weaknesses (other than inequalities and permutations

), and that is time management!!!
I've just taken my first gmat prep and scored a 700(45Q,40V), i think this is a pretty accurate score as I have not looked at the OG for a couple of months and did not see any questions i recognise. I plan to take the real thing in a few weeks, and anything over 690 will put me in the range of where i want to go (720+ would be a serious plus tho).
However the test highlighted a couple of serious issues, i think i spent way to long on a couple of Q questions due to stubborness (i am very stubborn

), and completely lost focus in the verbal. Consequently i felt rushed in the Q and messed up some easy questions, and in the verbal i ended up guessing the last 10 questions

. Out of 13 mistakes in the V i made 8 of those in the last 10, so I imagine if i can sort out the time issue i could push my V very high, and my Q at least a couple of points higher. To rub salt into the wound, one of the Q questions i spent 5 minutes on i got wrong due to a calculation mistake (1+4 = 4

)
So my questions to you experienced GMATers are:
a) when do you decide to give up on a question?
b) even if i get a bad ass question in the 1st few should i skip it? Bearing in mind some people still persist that the 1st 5-10 matter more?
c) how do you stay focused in V when you have been staring at a monitor for 3 hours???
Thanks
