I just took the GMAT for the second time today, scored a 570 (Q38,V30), a 10 point decrease from the first time I took it 580 (Q42, V28)
After all this, I think I've just delayed my application into a master's program a year
. At least I'll have plenty of time to study now.
Regardless, I got rushed in both sections. I was doing Venn diagram problems and some tough probability in the math section when I noticed that my time was running out. I rushed to the end, and before I knew it, my last question was an easy absolute value question!
During the break, I promised not to repeat the same scenario, but of course it happened again, just not quite as bad.
Do you folks have any reccomendations as to make sure you're staying on track? I know more time should be focused at the beggininng, but it looks like I over do it every time.

Justin
I run into this same problem as well. The best advice I have ran into here is to actually devide up the time, as the person above me has suggested, and then practice problems according to those time schedules.
Example:
Quant there are 75 mins to complete 37 questions. That gives you 2min and 3 seconds to complete each question.
The idea is to time yourself so that you have an internal clock letting you know are running out of time on a question.
My strategy is a little diffrent. Since the first 15 questions of the verbal are the most important I practive giving myself extra time on each of these questions and then work on answering the later questions more quickly.
Anyone else with any advice?
