I think you need to show commitment in anything that you do. Be more of a person who shows up to work to make money/be paid so that he/she can go out with friends on a Fri night and then also buy clothes. That is boring and that's a lot of applicants - a gray mass or those who do their job well and have gotten their first raise of the career.

But what makes you a special candidate? Why would a school be proud to take you in? And will you embarrass the school when you start job hunting and mess up their rankings numbers?

Also, what is the reason for your MBA? You have worked for a year - are you really mature enough or realized that you hate work and want to go back to the safety of school?

These are all common questions - you will have a lot of bases to cover when competing with 4-years of experience candidates. It is doable, and it has been done, but you have to bring something to the table that will trump the other folks. What will it be is only you know, and if you feel you have a good offer, then you should proceed.

P.S. If you want to try and apply - there is little harm in doing that besides a $1-2k in costs.
