Hi and welcome back to GMAT Club.
Most schools ask for at least 2 years and you will have that by the time you matriculate. I would say your work experience is on the short (very short side) and that will have an impact on you during bschool and after graduation.
1. You will have issues contributing meaningfully in the classroom and with your group/team
2. Internship and job search will be hard as you will have the shortest resume of all your peers
Finally, do you think you will have a hard time writing essays (you can try a few and see if you can do a good job with your 1.2 years of experience and examples. Also recommendations may be tough).
My guess is that combining the weak stance on Work experience with rush to potentially submit and application will result into a lot of wasted time that could be better channeled into building up your leadership skills at work, your involvement in local non profit orgs or other volunteer opportunities, getting some other achievements under way (Toast Masters, Sports Competitions, DJ Skills, dancing, and anything else that makes you stand out as a winner/leader)
My take on it.
Moderator Note: A note about toastmasters:
I don't know if membership in toast masters will help with impressing the bschool. The VP and the President roles I think will have some weight and will provide material for essays (esp if you have only done work and have not been involved with community otherwise). However, I found their speech manual and practice to be an outstanding tool for essay writing and answering interview questions (small topics and impromptu speeches). Also going to speech competitions and hearing other, much better speakers deliver speeches, gave a lot of ideas how to tell stories and how to capture attention. That's what i think where the majority of value of Toast Masters comes in.
Back to bschool, I think Toast Masters adds a tick mark on your resume and it is better than nothing. However, if you have someone who volunteering at a clinic in Africa, spent 40 hours/week helping with a really noble cause such as working with former prisoners (sorry for being a bit dramatic here), that will definitely trump Toast Masters VP of Education or Master at Arms.
