Financial reasons. I can pay for grad school, and I can support myself through it, but I dont have the luxury of tooling about for the next eight months.
Looks like you have enough dough to carry you for another 2 years...
I need to rely on the Bschool loan for fees and too some extent living expenses
Hmm.....Brings back one more Question. How many Gmatclubbers are planning to take loans for School Fees + Living Expenses??
I don't have enough for 3 years off! I wish. If I did, I'd just up and quit today, go home, take two weeks off, go back to the gym more and enjoy the summer. Right now I'm planning on having June 8th or June 15th be my last day - that way I can enjoy half of June, and all of July and August before school starts. I'd consider an earlier quit date, but I have vacation planned right before June 1, and quitting and going on vacation would be pretty poopy of me. Plus, I'm hanging around to get my bonus paid out. It probably wont be very big - but its worth hanging around for. It'll pay for a new laptop and a trip before school starts. I wonder what my fiance will say of a quite date in June. She'll probably be skeptical of it now that I think of it - I can't say I really blame her - after all, im going to be unemployed for some time, so I guess its sort of a "dumb" decision, but I really dont want to work through August. I'd so much rather just enjoy the summer, get back into a more healthy active lifestyle, get a tan, maybe do a little scuba diving somewhere on the cheap cheap, spend a week at the house in the bahamas, maybe go visit my parents, go hang out at Costco and refuse to show my reciept when I check out, etc.
Ironically, this thread was well timed. I came into work today to discover a significant shift in everything we are doing - I get to go back to my old lead role on a variation of a previous project. So at least I'll be doing something REMOTELY interesting through June.
