Hello Friends,
I took my GMAT test yesterday and scored 690. Now I am researching for schools, but I have no idea how to proceed. So I want you help.
So my questions are :
1) Should I opt opt for 1 year Executive MBA or should I go for full time MBA in finance.
My inclination is more towards pursuing 1 year Executive MBA. There are basically 2 reasons, why I am looking for 1 year Executive MBA. First, I am 28+ years old and would like to avoid 2 years in school. Second, reason is financial, I would like to complete my Executive MBA as soon as possible and join the earning pool again. Keeping these two things in mind, please suggest whether I am thinking right in deciding on doing 1 year Executive MBA.
However, if the advantages of going for a full time MBA will outweigh that of 1 year Executive MBA, I will not mind, full time course. So please guide me here.
2) Could you please suggest me some good B-schools which offers 1 year Executive MBA in Finance. However, if you think that full time MBA makes more sense for me, please suggest some best schools offering MBA in finance.
Here is my brief profile
Nationality: Indian
Age: 28
Educational Qualification: B.E.in Electronics & Telecommunications
B.tech Score : CGPA 8.43/10
GMAT Score: 690 (IR : 6, Quantitative: 49, Verbal : 34)
Work Experience: 5 years, 3 months with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT company
International experience : 15 months of onsite experience in Japan
Role: Module leader, where in I am leading a group of 5-6 persons
Domain : Engineering and Industrial services (EIS), where my client is a car one of the biggest car company.
Extra Curricular: Trekking. I have not involved in much of extra-curricular activities in the past, but plan on doing so in the immediate future
Social service : Taking part in blood donation drive, helping poor with collection of materials for them etc.
I would like to start my MBA class preferably in the next 6 months and would like to join a college where I have a good chance of getting a good job.
Also, if any more information is needed, please let me know. Please, forgive me If I have posted this thread in wrong forum subgroup(Please suggest appropriate subgroup, if this is the case).

I think you need to take a bit more time and think about what you want from a program.
Wanting to "join a college and get a good job" is pretty much what every student in every program wants. With that said, it may be best to figure out what you want, and choose schools based on your interest. Maybe start with local programs in india, then look at FT rankings - work backwards from there. Work in EU? US? Asia? India? What kind of Finance? etc.
Second, you seem to be very focused on finance. Why not a masters in finance program? This goes back to knowing what you want. For example, an admissions officer will want to know why an MBA, why not something else?
I would also suggest looking into one year MBA programs. You're only 28, you're not that old
28 is pretty much the average age for an MBA.
