Q:How long does it take for TOEFL preparation?
A:It depends on your current English skills and your target score. Some people simply went for the test after one week's preparation while others spent a year for TOEFL preparation.

Q:What are some good resources to follow?
A:Official TOEFL books from ETS are must have. Besides, you may want to use TPOs (TOEFL Practice Online) for more practices.
After you identify some weakness (speaking? Writing?), you can find some books just for those sections.
