The same University's website will address which one you do need for the admission and what is the advised threshold.

Usually, Canada Universities want Ielts but it depends on the province/state where the Academia is located. Be careful: a new IELTS took place since few weeks

US Ones usually prefer TOEFL iBT

Hope this is clear.

Regards

Many students might feel IELTS is easier than TOEFL. For many years, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) was the exam most U.S. colleges and universities relied on to measure and test English language skills exhibited by applicants from non-English speaking countries. The IELTS is often considered to be the only test that can compete with the TOEFL test in the United States. In addition to the TOEFL, more than 3,000 U.S. institutions and programs now accept the IELTS as well. Ultimately, the test you take will probably be guided by which test is required by the school(s) to which you are applying. If both are acceptable, the availability of testing locations and the cost will probably play a significant role in your decision. IELTS Classes in Nagpur is a good place to begin planning your IELTS or TOEFL preparation so that in the end, you earn the best IELTS or TOEFL score you can. This institute provides sample test materials and testing tips and extensive mock tests for a real-time experience.
