Dear Sir/Mam,

I am an applicant from India. I have completed by Bachelors in Engineering from Rajasthan Technical University and medium of English for the entire course(4 years) was English. I plan to apply for Round 2 for Full Time MBA program.
Am I eligible for a TOEFL waiver? Is there any application or document that I need to submit to be considered for the same.

Thanks for a quick response.

Hi Srishti,

In the US, few schools will give you TOEFL waiver on the basis of your education, but few won't. This varies for schools, so it would be best for you to contact the admissions team of schools where you want to apply and get the confirmation.

As per my knowledge, few schools such as Georgia Tech, Smeal, ASU etc.. won't give you waiver even if your BE is in the English medium, but few other schools such as Mays, Fisher, Olin, Tippie etc.. will give you waiver on basis of your education. On top of that, you will not be required to submit TOEFL score for few other schools such as UNC, Kelley, and other top ranked schools.

Still, I would suggest checking with admissions team of schools if requirements on their sites mention about criteria for waiver and you don't fit into those.

Hope this helps.

Hi Srishti,
I know its frustrating to take TOEFL after you have taken GMAT, which is far more advance proof of english than TOEFL. My advise would be to look at your target MBA school's websites and see their admission requirement for international students.

Even if you get a waiver from your target MBA schools, you will have to take English proficiency test to get your US visa. Please check the visa requirements before going any further. I'm sure you can crack TOEFL if you can crack GMAT/GRE. Hope this helps.

Best,
