Too Late for MIT EMBA? 40% Apply Between Mid-May/Early June!40% of applications are submitted in the last two weeks of MIT’s EMBA cycle!Last year around this time (mid-May), MIT sent out an email message that encouraged prospective candidates to still apply, even though the final MIT EMBA deadline was only a couple of weeks away on June 1. The MIT EMBA process is a rolling admissions process, with applications reviewed as they are submitted.
The MIT email read:
“The final deadline to apply to the MIT Executive MBA is June 1st at 11:59pm EST. With a little over two weeks remaining, you still have the opportunity to submit a strong application. In fact, historically,
we receive approximately 40% of applications in the last two weeks of the cycle.”
So, is it too late to apply successfully to the MIT EMBA program? According to MIT, it is not! But, you should move as briskly as you can, so that you can potentially submit by the third week of May rather than the first week of June.
Even if you end up applying on June 1, however, just remember that at times prestigious EMBA programs like Chicago Booth take in additional applications even after the deadline if they have not fully filled the new EMBA class. That means that even at the top EMBA programs, there are sometimes a noteworthy number of seats remaining in the latest days of the application process. So, with that in mind, keep focused and prepare the best application you can for MIT Sloan’s EMBA program!
The fact that you do not need to submit a GMAT score certainly should aid your ability to complete your application requirements. Your focus will be on your essays, resume and recommendation letters.
