EMPOWERgmatRichC1) 8 hours a week on quant. I havent solved any
OG quant questions so for this 3 months I solved all
OG questions and kept track of mistakes I made
2) Verbal -
E-gmat,
OG 2018,
OG verbal 2018. Quant -
TTP,
OG 2018,
OG quant 2018. I have also did all GMAT official CATS and took a re-test of them (12 in total)
3) I took 4 CATS before my second attempt. They were retest of my first attempt CATS. But i didn't remember most of the questions. I also like to take my CATS at night at around 9pm so I am more tired and it better stimulates real GMAT experience. However I was never stressed when taking these tests and made silly mistakes sometimes for quant. I would finish quant around 10 minutes earlier because I was already tired lol:
720 (Q49, V39), 740 (Q50, V40), 710 (Q48, V39), 680 (Q48, V36). I took 1 CAT a week before the exam. So on the exam week I didn't take any CATS.
I honestly think real GMAT is a completely different ball game and my true verbal skill is around 34-36. In my first attempt (the score I canceled) I was getting 49 quant on all practice tests but the real GMAT was much harder and I got like Quant 45 on the first attempt. I was also very stressed. Second time I got Q48 which I deserved because I didn't know how to answer many of the questions. What I did was solve all
OG questions (I havent solved any
OG quant questions) and put each question into a bucket and analyze what I did wrong.
4) I will apply to business schools around 3-4 years later. I am currently a first year analyst. I am planning to apply to M7 schools and LBS/Oxford. I started GMAT very early since validity of scores is 5 years.
I also might be able to squeeze in 2 hours of study per week for GMAT if I am not busy. I just need to start studying for CFA.
