I've just got home from the test center, and I don't know what to do really. Retake or not.
I scored 710
IR 7 82%
Q 50 87%
V 37 83%
After the first three sections I felt like I was nailing it, even though I lost a couple of minutes in quant because my break sandwich was pretty big. When I noticed that the time was up I didn't freak out, I was able to finish quant with three minutes left. At this moment I was felling very confident, but then the Verbal section started. I never felt quite confident with Verbal, even though I solved every single question in OG and Verbal review with a 84% accuracy. I felt like I was guessing in a lot of opportunities. I'm not a native english speaker. Even though I know there are no excuses, I guess I feel some anger for the disadvantages the we the nonnative english speaker have to overcome. It's achievable for everyone, but it's so damn hard for us!!!
So here comes my existential question. Should I retake or not??
I know my score is great, but I feel I could have scored higher. My Verbal practice scores were all over the place, from 34 to 41. Should I focus on verbal an retake, or do you think that my 710 with Q 50 will suffice??
My main concern is that my application profile is nontraditional. And I'm not sure how BSchools are going to evaluate me. SO, Even though no one knows what weight is given to the gmat, I felt that the GMAT was the one aspect were I could have made my application shine. I think that I am capable of getting a much better score to give myself a better chance, but IS IT WORTH IT??
For you to better understand my situation, I'll describe my background a little bit.
I've got my undergraduate degree from the best university in my home country, Paraguay, South america. A good GPA, but the university is not even close to any top 100 institution from north america. Not sure how this will play out when applying.
My WE is nontraditional, I've worked in two somewhat big local companies, in the first as a Business Process Analyst, and then transitioned to a Managerial Role in another company, 2 years of experience at each company. I did achieve a lot in both jobs, no superhero stuff though.
I had some extracurricular at the beginning of my undergrad, but then I had to stop because I started working while studying.
Sooo, What do you think?
Should I retake? IS this GMAT score good enough for me??
And thank you guys very much for taking your time. Any input is very welcomed. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it.
