I took the GMAT today and scored a 350, one of the reasons I think I scored so badly was because of a stomach bug, I've been fighting all week, and during testing was fighting the urge to vomit. This was partly due to nerves and my sickness. My breakdown of scores was Q19 and V19. I really thought I would do better at Verbal and thought that would compensate for a mediocre Quant score. On the plus side, since the start of my studies, my quant score was around a 7, so despite the low score at least it showed improvement, but for some reason I can't get past 19 on verbal. On Kaplan practice tests was scoring between a 530 and 540, and on Princeton Review around a 500. These scores were fine with me, because the generally accepted student for the university I'm considering has a incoming gmat score of 565. I've studied approximately 10 hours a week for the past month. Initially started with Kaplan material but the problems were too difficult for me to grasp, and the last two weeks of studying came across Princeton Review, I like them over Kaplan. I called Princeton Review to find out about Prep Courses, but the cost is about $1100. They claim they can improve your GMAT by at least 92.5 points. I'm not sure if its worth it or not. I will now have approximately 3 months to study, and my initial GMAT goal was 565-600, but now have to score around a 700, because I really want to show the university I'm capable. My work history is okay and my G.P.A is a 3.4, I really don't want the GMAT to be the only thing to hold me back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If I do decide to do the Power Prep, what study guides are suggested on top of that? Is anyone in my same boat, where they had a less than desired score and retook it, and scored in the range 650-700? My email is starshinedaze if anyone wants to contact me about it, also live in the Colorado Springs Area, if anyone else is studying for it.
