Top 4 Reasons for Rejection: Tuck
At this time of the year, many candidates approach us asking us to conduct a Ding Analysis of their unsuccessful applications to Tuck. What have we found to be the most frequent reasons for Tuck rejections? Here are the top four:
1. Failure to engage with the school (class visits, reaching out to speak with current students or alumni, attending information sessions, etc.)… the school starts to think that candidates who have not engaged with the school are simply attempting to use Tuck as a back-up school
2. Fit: the school does not perceive a strong fit between its offerings and your career goals
3. Fit: the school does not perceive a strong fit between its culture and your personality
4. GMAT/GRE score too low
Other factors, such poorly put-together essays or recommendations that did not convey you as best-in-class, could have been sources that derailed the application as well.
