Withdrawing from one class is not a big deal at all. You are better off showing the W than the C. When you end up applying, you can always address this decision in an optional essay very briefly using some of the background context you shared here. It sounds perfectly legitimate. It's also not entirely necessary to do so.

There are so many factors that go into deciding on a candidate and one class (even if it's CF) is not going to make or break you. How are your credentials otherwise?
