Let the multiplier be x.

(4/7) * x = 6/7
x = (6*7)/(4*7)
x = 6/4
x = 3/2

SOLUTION

What number when multiplied by 4/7 yields 6/7 as the result?

(A) 2/7
(B) 3/3
(C) 3/2
(D) 24/7
(E) 7/2

\(\frac{4}{7}*x=\frac{6}{7}\) --> \(x=\frac{6}{7}*\frac{7}{4}=\frac{6}{4}=\frac{3}{2}\).

Answer: C.

The denominator remains same. We got to make 6 from 4. So multiply by 3/2.

you can focus on 4*x=6 and ignore the denominator 7. x=6/4 which 1.5 which is equal to C: 3/2
