Hi All, congrats on getting in.

Has anyone heard anything from Re Vera at all? I'm past the 8 week mark now and it seems a little strange that they'd already be behind this early on in the process. I've had no contact from them personally and I don't believe my work/recommenders have been contacted either, but obviously could be wrong about that. I'm assuming that they're done if I haven't heard from them yet, but curious if everyone has had silence.

I'm at the 4 week mark, and I know my current employer received a call this week.

I'm around the 4 week mark too and I heard from them recently. I honestly wouldn't worry about not hearing from them yet. I think no news is good news!

Wondering if you ever heard back. I'm at just about the 7 week mark now.

Nope, getting pretty close to 4 months now. Although I'm almost positive that they're done and CBS just hasn't gotten back to us yet.

Pretty quiet in here.

Anyone hear back from merit or need-based scholarships?

When is the timeline to hear back?

Same here. I submitted authorization to Re Vera on Oct. 24th, my employer was contacted in November or December, but I haven’t heard anything since. Has anybody heard back from Columbia?

Hey Fellow CBS 2020ers,

Congratulations on being accepted to CBS. We’re really excited to meet you all! To jump-start the fun, networking, and memories, we would love to invite you on a trip around the world. Welcome to the CBS World Tour!

What is the World Tour?!

The CBS World Tour is an entirely optional (although highly recommended), self-funded trip around the world organized by CBS students for CBS students—and their significant others. Each trip is organized by a country expert— maybe they were born there, worked there, or are super excited about the country— and lasts around a week. The trips give you the chance to share awesome experiences with your future classmates and make friends before the chaos of school. Last year’s trip hit up such varied places as Tanzania, Vietnam, Croatia, France, and Mauritius. You can join for as many trips as you would like (although some may overlap).

When is the World Tour?!

The exact schedule is still pending, but we’re planning to travel between May and August. TBC.

How can I get involved?!

We are looking for trip leaders to organize the various trips. If you’re interested please email us at cbsworldtour2018@gmail.com or sign-up at cbsworldtour.com. We already have leaders for our Yacht Week and Hamptons trips, but if you want to help out that would still be appreciated.

What if I just want to travel?!

Sign up for our newsletter at cbsworldtour.com and we’ll let you know as soon as the schedule is released and sign-ups are open. We’re really excited to get to know you all. Please send us an email if you have any questions.

Your 2018 World Tour Team

Wondering about this, too. Most people seemed to find out about their merit fellowships on the admissions call itself, right? At least that's how things appear for most schools, including CBS. The school says they may award some after admissions, but I'm not sure how significant the scholarships will be. Bummer, since it's a huge factor in my decision-making process.

They sent an email around 2 weeks ago saying need-based will be rolled out soon, and some merits have already been handed to students.

Yeah, I saw the optional application for need-based scholarship. But, regarding the fellowships, since it's been said that the majority of merit is handed out in February and I received my decision only yesterday - should I assume that I've been passed over for merit? Probably a question I'll shoot off to adcom when my other schools results trickle in and I can compare my options.

From what I inferred in the email from the finaid office, it seems like only some merit have been issued - let me try to find that email when I get home.

Though, keep us posted with what the adcom tells you?

Spoke with some current students familiar with the matter - looks like merit fellowships are still being handed out at admission even now. The later the cycle goes (March etc.), the smaller the awards become. There's also a small chance you'll be one of the lucky few who gets a secondhand fellowship package if an admitted student opts to go somewhere else. So...yup.

Now I'm more interested in the need-based financial scholarship. I heard the school first pads you with institutional loans and then tries to bridge the gap with cash scholarship. And unless you come from an NGO, I'm not sure the awards are that large either.

Been some time since I got on the forum.

For future applicants, I applied ED and received a full tuition scholarship mid March. So CBS definitely does give money even if one applies ED.
