The following appeared in a memorandum written by the managing director of the Exeunt Theater Company:
“Now that we have moved to a larger theater, we can expect to increase our revenues from ticket sales. To further increase profits, we should start producing the plays that have been most successful when they were performed in our nation’s largest cities. In addition, we should hire the Adlib Theater Company’s director of fund-raising, since corporate contributions to Adlib have increased significantly over the three years that she has worked for Adlib.”
Discuss how well reasoned . . . etc.

Discuss how well reasoned . . . etc.
The argument claims that Exeunt Theatre Company can expect to increase their revenue from ticket sales since they have moved to a larger theatre. The argument further claims additional methods to increase profits such as producing plays that were successful in large cities and hiring the direction of Adlib Theatre Company to raise funds. Stated in this way, the argument fails to consider several key factors on the basis of which it could be evaluated. The conclusion of the argument relies on assumptions for which there is no clear evidence. Hence, the argument is unconvincing and has several flaws.
First, the argument readily assumes that by moving to a larger theatre, the Exeunt Theatre Company could expect an increased ticket sales. This statement is a stretch and is not substantiated in any way. To illustrate, if the theatre company was not selling a full house before moving to the larger theatre, there is not much evidence that a larger theatre would sell more tickets. Further, if the theatre company was situated in a city where there is not much interest to watch theatre shows, increasing the size of the theatre might not sell more tickets. The argument could have been much clearer if it explicitly stated that more people would be interested to watch theatre shows if there was a larger theatre.
Second, the argument claims that to increase profits, the theatre company should start producing plays that have been most successful when these plays were performed in the nation’s largest cities. This is again a very weak claim as the argument does not demonstrate any correlation between popular plays in large cities and increased ticket sales in Exeunt Theatre Company’s current city. To illustrate, many of the theatre going audience might be located in large cities. In fact, many people interested in watching theatre shows might specifically travel to a large city to enjoy the theatre experience there, which they may not get outside of these large cities. Further, large cities, which have large populations, can easily sell more tickets and make profits regardless of the popularity of the play. If the argument had provided evidence that people in the city of the Exeunt Theatre Company would pay for plays successful in large cities, then the argument would have been a lot more convincing.
Finally, is there any evidence that director of Adlib was directly responsible for the fund-raising? Also, in the process of creating profits, has the author considered the expenses involved in hiring a director of another company? Additionally, has the author considered hiring a local marketing agency for raising funds? Without convincing answers to these questions, one is left with an impression that the claim is more wishful thinking than substantive evidence.
In conclusion, the argument is flawed for the above mentioned reasons and is therefore, unconvincing. It could be considerably strengthened if the author had mentioned all the relevant factors, such as evidence of increased number of local people interested in watching theatre or employing a local marketing agency to raise funds. In order to assess the merits of the claim that moving to a larger theatre would increase sales, it is essential to have full knowledge of all contributing factors. Without this information, the argument remains unsubstantiated and open to debate.

Thank you. I see grammar and punctuation errors are greater than 1%. Any idea what these errors might be?
I am aware that my grammar and punctuation are definitely not the best. I would really appreciate knowing these errors so that I can work on them.
