due to --should be followed by verb clause.

I doubt that it is correct. In other questions due to is followed by nouns. Example:
"... but if the insurance company is able to prove excessive loss due to owner negligence, ..."

To clarify, yes; "due to" is used to modify nouns, and "because of" is used to modify verbs and clauses.

I think there is a typo in option d.

It should be "because of" in place of just "because"

Kindly check once.
