Syscorp occupies three floors of an office building, the first floor, the second floor, which is immediately above the first floor, and the third floor, which is immediately above the second floor, but no other floors. These three floors house only the following corporate departments: Administrative, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, and Marketing. Each department is on exactly one floor, and each floor houses at least one department. Exactly three of the departments are on the second floor. The Legal and Administrative departments are both on the floor immediately below the Finance department. The Human Resources department is on the floor immediately below the Marketing department.

There are 3 floors with 6 departments. Exactly 3 departments must be on Floor 2.
This means Floors 1 and 3 together have 3 departments. Since every floor must have at least one department, one of these floors must have 1 department and the other must have 2.
Rules to Follow:
Rule 1: The Legal and Administrative departments must be immediately below the Finance department.
Rule 2: The Human Resources department must be immediately below the Marketing department.
Considering the Options:
Option D ("HR only") is the only choice with 1 department.
The 2-department options are A, B, and C.
Testing One Possibility:
Assign First Floor: Option D → HR only.
Then, the remaining 2-department option must go to the Third Floor.
Try Option A for Third Floor ("Finance and Information Technology only"):
Third Floor: Finance (F) and Information Technology (IT).
That leaves the departments for Floor 2 as: Administrative (A), Legal (L), and Marketing (M).
Checking the rules:
Since Finance is on Floor 3, the floor immediately below (Floor 2) must have both Legal and Administrative.
→ Floor 2 has A and L.
