"Is x - 1/16 grater than 5/8" seems mean x>11/16 (not X>11)

therefore 3/4=12/16 and A - insuff. Right?

yah yah. i was too confused with thew language of this question.

from 1, x < 3/4 or 12/16. so x could be 11.5/16 not suff.....
from 2, x > 2/3 or 10.67/16. so still insuff.

therefore E.

A

From the text: (X-1)/16 > 5/8 or 10/ 16
(x-1)>10

then we need to know if x>11!!!

1) 4x<3
Then x<3/4. SUF

2) 2*1/3<x>2/3. INSUF

I agree with this but just one small change.

2. is X > 9.67/16 so Insufficient.

I think it should be x - (1/16),
which makes the inequality, Is x>11/16 =>Is x>33/48
St. 1, 4x<3
x<3> x<36>2/3 which implies that x>32/48 - insuff.
Even combining St. 1 and 2 makes 36/48>x>32/48 which is insuff
So, E.

(A) Four times the value of x is less than three.
(B) One third of two is less than the value of x.

Good prob to try and do in 2 min. Essentially it will help to find out what 11/16 is. --> ~.68

is x>.68?

1: 4x2/3 Again could be less or greater.

.666<x<.75

X could still be greater or less than .68

E.
