hey congrats ! amazing score,
how did you work on timing /pacing your self for the real test? I am getting a sense that you took Q section untimed? (a couple of times ateast) I am doing something similar but getting very nervous as I think I will not be able to finish the test in time :(

York: I didn't really intend to take the sections untimed. MGMAT tests had the option where you could pause the test whenever you wanted. Pretty much every time I took their tests, I would do my best to work through the problems and then I would become shocked that I was on question 20 with 5 minutes left. I figured at that point during the test, it made more sense for me to pause the exam and at least having looks / attempts at some more questions, if for nothing but practice. Clearly, this shouldn't be done when you've committed yourself to a real simulated testing situation. In my case, I figured that I had enough tests available to me (6 MGMAT, 6 Kaplan, 1 PR, 1 Knewton, 1 Validas, 1 Platinum GMAT, 2 GMATprep) that I could "sacrifice" a few. Again, my opinion is that MGMAT quant is WAY harder than it should be. I found the GMATPrep, Knewton, and Kaplan tests to be the closest simulations of the real GMAT quant. Let those tests be your gauge. Of course, I think that if you can finish MGMAT and do well on it, as I'm sure many people have, you would be more than ready for the real thing.

Two things I really worked on and tried to perfect were actually pretty simple, but they helped a lot:
1. Eliminate silly mistakes
Sometimes, I let my mind wander. Those times, 9x5 becomes 54. Or 13+11 becomes 21. To eliminate the risk of doing a whole problem and then later realizing that I did something stupid, I was laser focused on all of my calculations, as opposed to rushing for the sake of rushing.

2. Write more legibly
When I first started studying, I would constantly misread my 5s as 2s or my 7s as 1s. When I realized that the exam would only provide a marker and a dry erase board, I was terrified. I eventually developed a system, where I would add a bar to my 7s, and add a loop to the bottom of my 2s. When it came to variables, I would add a bar to my Zs to distinguish them from 2s, and give my "x" an extra hook to distinguish it from a hastily written "y". Find what works for you. Even if it saves you from wasting time on just one question, it would have been worth it.

To Akaydee: Unfortunately, I cannot share my flash cards as they were done on actual index cards instead of the computer! I know, I was shocked myself. But I did find it very helpful to do it on paper. First off, you can draw, make arrows, doodle etc., something that is much more difficult on the computer. Furthermore, flash cards are portable. Sometimes I would grab a small deck of them and put them in my back pocket and just review them on a bus ride or something. And as I mentioned before, I'm someone who seems to learn well by writing - for those of you who are also wired this way, I highly recommend making paper flash cards. There is a ton of value in doing it yourself!

Many people:
For Bunuel's DS questions, simply look him up in the GMATclub search and take a look at his signature. He has all of the problem sets listed.
For the probability questions, search the forums for "Probability Practice Problems with Answers"
For the combinatorics questions, search the forums for "Permutations, Combinations, Probability - Download Questions" and "Combinations, Permutations, and Probability - References"

Thanks for sharing, especially about the mgmat quant. I am taking their tests and getting obliterated on the quant. I've compared against the single official gmat prep test I took and there seems to be no relationship between the level of difficulty. The official questions are much more to the point of the concept they want to test. Mgmat just piles on complexities to the core question and eats up your time.
