Congrats! 760 is a very good score and puts you in the 99 percentile. All the best for your apps.

Hey,

When did you take your GMAT?
I took my GMAT on 7th Feb 2011 and scored 750 (Q50 V42) :o

That is pretty strange that you got Q50 and V41 but still manage to get 760.

Anyway congrats and best of luck for your apps.

Regards,
Jayanta

Have you worked through all the Verbal related MGMAT books?

I guess you could use the Aristotle SC Grail which is quite good. For RC I used RC99 it is very good, but I think the LSAT RC is the best prep material you can find for RC.
For CR, I don't have much ideas as this was my strong point in verbal.

Congratulations -- this is a wonderful description of your GMAT journey, and a real "tutorial" for others on the kind of plan & commitment required (over time) to achieve your goal. For those of us looking for "shortcuts" or "instant results," forget it! However, as 'drisss' has shown us, if you plan accordingly and you are really serious about it, YOU CAN SCORE ABOVE 750!

I took it a couple of days ago.

I can't see any explanation apart from the fact that with BS applications approaching and people running out of time, applicants must have less time prepare in order for them to take the test and be able to report score before the deadline, hence a slight shift downward for percentiles.
Obviously this is just a guess.

To be honest, I spoke with a Top US BS admission staff recently, and he non-officially hinted that there is no difference when assessing a 740 and a 780, so I don't think you should be annoyed by that.

Good luck with your aps cheers

I dont think that should be the reason, as it is indicated in the score report that the scaled score never changes. If you take your gmat today or you take your GMAT say after 1 year. But the percentile equivalent of the scaled score might change.

I am not annoyed at all :-D Just that i was a bit confused with their scoring pattern. In fact i was pretty satisfied with my score.
The b-schools(INSEAD, ISB) I am targeting should not have any problem with my GMAT score at least. They might have an issue with my profile though.(4 yrs exp in IT) :?

Mazel tov on your score! I have a question. How hard was the actual GMAT test questions compared to the Manhattan GMAT practice tests you took?

jamifa, I think drisss was referring to the notepads that they give you for your scratch-work during the test.
