YES! INTERVIEW!

Congrats!

Got the interview invite last week, it wont happen till later this week though... Can't wait to finally get it over with at this point, i feel prepared!!


And to relate to above, I actually just came back from an MIT visit and they said the same thing about the iPads. The atmosphere was definitely different there then at the other schools, I'll definitelly have to take a couple of more looks at the school before I'm comfortable applying. I'm still hoping Columbia comes through!!! fingers crossed!

I don't know, I liked MIT from what I heard there. A buddy of mine graduated in '06 and he is not a nerd in any way. I also saw a lot of people there that did not give off a nerdy vibe. Even if they did, it wouldn't be an issue with me as long as the group is diverse. What I lack in areas, I look to get from my bschool experience (have I written too many essays now??).

I'm scheduled for an interview this weekend. So far my interviewer has been very accomodating, and we have a friendly tone among us. I will keep you posted.

On a side note, Tuck for instance, has a scholarship deadline. Is there such a thing at Columbia? Or are you automatically evaluated for this?

Hey all, found out I was admitted at the info session last night (Mary Miller is aewsome by the way). Defintiely a huge relief and I'm incredibly happy right now. I've posted my timeline below because I know many are collecting all the data (I sure did), but after stressing about it endlessly while waiting, my advice now would be to relax. Yes, I realize it is much easier to say this after the fact but I spent two week agonizing over my interview. My interviewer was extremely nice and easy to talk to but I didn't think I articulated myself well, based on the evidence now I was probably overthinking it.

Anyway, best of luck to all and I look forward to meeting those of you already accepted next year.

so whats the longest anyones gone before getting an interview invite?! im coming up on two weeks and getting antsy haha i probably would have mentally been better off without this board freaking me out ;P

Hah I only waited 5 days, but I know of guys on last year's thread who waited more than a month.

And if you've gone through this forum, you'd know that LT, me and a few others were plotting charts based on last year's data to predict when we'd hear back :P

Ha fudge... all these people complaining about the wait.. we have no compassion! Until you have trend analysis plotted and graphed, time of day analysis on when the admit calls usually come, and have reviewed upcoming admission events to plot where Mary and the team that calls will be... you have not waited long enough! Also, my luggage tag is at the jeweler getting "blinged" out... figured I'd be very urban and don it like a rapper wears their "ice".

Svalik... goodluck! Hopefully we have more hotty MBA females who gets in... otherwise the next two years I'll actually have to pay attention to class (wtf!).

How were you are notified about your interview request? Was it by email that your status had changed or was it a call?

It's usually 2 emails - one that your status has changed, and another inviting you to interview. The status change one is first, and for me the 2nd followed about 3hrs later.

haha, a friend of mine is a current student at Kellogg and he was saying how all the single women were in relationships by Thanksgiving. Have fun! :)

On a side note, all the other admits get contacted by someone from the Hermes society? Seems awesome to have a connection already made to answer all my questions (and I've had quite a few already)... primarily... where the heck should I get a place lol
