Just got the call and I'm in as well!
I have a << 3.0 GPA so for people that have low GPA I am yet another example that it can be done.
it's a 5 minute call congratulating you, confirming on your cohort choice, and informing you of next steps (email packet, admit day, etc).
Good luck everyone!
Can you share a bit more about your profile?
Yeah sure. 2.65 GPA in electrical engineering from large state school and a 710 GMAT (48/40). I have 6 years of working experience - 2 as account manager for F500 semiconductor company, 2 as business program manager for Electronic Manufacturing Services company in China, and currently 2 as a consultant for a non-MBB management consulting firm.
GPA definitely sucked so I had to make sure that the other areas of my application made up for it. I was able to get good recommendations from my firm, and also spent A LOT of time on the essays. I was able to weave together my story and integrate how a PT Berkeley MBA is going to help me advance in my job... I think the key is to remain true to who you are and be confident of what you have accomplished. Lastly, I didn't mention anything about my GPA except in the 150 word optional short essay. Instead, I focused on other areas of what I have to offer....I think admission is able to easily see how you have grown since college days through other parts of your application so you don't really need to explicitly dwell on it.
