I am planning to re take GMAT soon. I am a non native speaker and CR is quite not my realm. I formulated an approach to improve my CR and posting it below. Also see my signature below for my approaches / Strategies on other sections of GMAT. Please add more inputs and suggestions from your side too if you have some niche strategies to share. I will add them to my post.
Considerations for Learning CR :
We need to dive in to few things as listed here to achieve any remarkable expertise in CR .
Identify Premises & Conclusion while reading the stimulus ( CR Paragraph ) Identifying Different Question types in CR Identify patterns in wrong choices and patterns in correct choice for every question type while we practice official problems.
I am posting an approach that touch-bases each of the above skill set and enhance CR learning on a whole, below.
Identifying Premise and Conclusion :
Chapter 2 from powerscore book. This chapter had an end of chapter drill that helps in identifying premises and conclusions. Be sure to do it in thorough.
powerscore CR book - Resolve the Paradox Questions - Chapter 9 from powerscore book Method of Reasoning and Flaw in the Reasoning Questions - Chapter 10 from powerscore book Parallel Reasoning Questions - Chapter 11 from powerscore book Numbers and Percentages - Chapter 12 from powerscore book Evaluate the Argument Questions - Chapter 13 from powerscore book Manhattan Gmat CR Bok Last chaper involving minor question types.
Practice Verbal Review 2 CR Problems to achieve the goal of identifying patterns in CR. At end of every topic as outlined above do the corresponding problems from verbal review 2. For example after completing assumptions topic from all sources as listed above, grab the verbal review 2nd edition and solve all assumption problems from it. You can use Mgmat CR book to look up the official list of problems from verbal review 2 at the end of every topic.Use an error log found at the link specified below.
Identify answer traps for wrong and close choices Identify characteristics for correct choices
Only Practice can help you to identify patterns. Later on move on to OG 12 Problems. Do 20 problems a day for 6 days and YES PLS DO USE AN PROPER ERROR LOG for OG12 available on this forum. )
