I do not see nothing wrong in C

I also selected C but looks like every option has some issue. In C, can you justify comma before and.

As per my knowledge, we can use comma before and in only below scenarios.
1. list of more than two items
2. to join two indepdennt clause.

both cases are not applicable here.

For D, the complete verb should be has created so verb is missing in first part.

(B)has created frustration, as it will no doubt continue to,
(C)has created, and will no doubt continue to create, frustration

Can you explain what verb forms are missing here and in what sense?

A-has created and it will no doubt continue to "Create"-word missing here
B-has created frustration, as it will no doubt continue to - "Create"-again word missing
D-has and will no doubt continue to create-will no doubt continue to create is okay, but has continue-wrong usage, so has "created" will clarify the verb
E-has created frustration, and will no doubt continue, - "Create" is missing.

Verb forms have to be written explicitly-in order to get qualified grammatically.

Thanks,
Kudos if clarified :) !

here the only doubt was between C and E

But in E if you scan the sentence: has created frustration, and will no doubt continue, for athletes and fans who would prefer to see the games represent only competition among the excellent from all nations.

The phrase doesn't have much sense. Put a particular emphasis on meaning, guys.

Hope the best.

Never heard of has continue...
Either has to continue/has continued....

And yes, Ellipsis forms require the presence of the verb form in the sentence. Just didn't bring about the complex nomenclature of grammar because at the end of the day, it's the application part of it right!

Thanks many!

Let us now try this topic in the structural way. . Obviously A and B are wrong since they substantially alter the menaing as if, both the action of creating confusion and will be continuing are happening temporally or synchronously; It may even mean, if as is used in replacement of because, this causal phenomenon is not intended.

Coming to C, D and E: All the three sentences are compound sentences using the conjunction ‘and’ and assuming intrusion as the subject for the second clause too for the sake of brevity. This should not take away the independentness of the both the clause

C—this looks fair enough, because the final sentence is going to be- The intrusion of politics into the modern Olympics - has created, and will no doubt continue to create, frustration for athletes and fans that would prefer to see the games represent only competition among the excellent from all nations. The clause can take the subject as ellipsis verbatim and make sense.

D: Now you can see the sentence’s deficiency. When we stop saying the intrusions has, we don’t know what it has. But the second part is okay with the clause taking the subject of the intrusion elliptically.

E. continue what is not clear, whether it is continue frustration or continue to frustrate. If we have to assume continue to create frustration, then it is wrong. Continue frustration is also not acceptable, because creating frustration is an integral part of the intended meaning. So E is inadequate
